This course on Gastrointestinal and Hepatobiliary Diseases covers almost all diseases and disorders of different parts of the gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary system. The subjects of gastroenterology as well as hepatology are vast and complex, even when considered individually. This course provides the learners comprehensible content on each and every part of the gastrointestinal tract and the liver, its disorders, their presenting complaints, clinical assessment, diagnosis etc with the aim to make an undergraduate learner grasp each and every concept thoroughly and deeply. This course is divided into multiple parts pertaining to the different parts of the system. This is the 1st part which deals with the basics of the gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary system along with the most common presenting complaints.

• 1. Introduction To the Gastrointestinal System 32 min

  This module covers the basics and fundamentals of the anatomy and physiology of the Gastrointestinal system. A basic idea of the various pathologies that can occur in this system have also been covered.

• 2. Introduction To the Hepatobiliary System 25 min

  This module talks about the basic anatomy and physiology of the hepatobiliary system. It includes the liver and the biliary system and emphasises upon the role of the hepatobiliary system in the functioning of the gastrointestinal system.

• 3. The Gastrointestinal System: Presenting Problems - Part 1 51 min

  This module deals with the various presenting problems that a patient comes up with, when there is some pathology in the gastrointestinal system. In the end of every presenting problem, this module also explains the management strategies for the presenting complaint at hand.

• 4. The Gastrointestinal System: Presenting Problems - Part 2 45 min

  This module deals with the various presenting problems that a patient comes up with, when there is some pathology in the gastrointestinal system. In the end of every presenting problem, this module also explains the management strategies for the presenting complaint at hand. The module is a continuation of the previous module on the presenting problems of the gastrointestinal system (Part 1).

• 5. The Hepatobiliary System: Presenting Problems 60 min

  This module focuses on the presenting problems pertaining only to the hepatobiliary system. In the end of every presenting problem, this module also explains the management strategies for the presenting complaint at hand.
