It is imperative for a medical student to be well acquainted with the diseases of the gastrointestinal system primarily because this system practically forms the basis of life as it links the internal world of the body to the external world through the food, water, drugs etc that are taken in from the external world and assimilated and utilized to maintain every single cell of the internal world.
This course on Gastrointestinal and Hepatobiliary Diseases covers almost all diseases and disorders of different parts of the gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary system. The subjects of gastroenterology as well as hepatology are vast and complex, even when considered individually. This course provides the learners comprehensible content on each and every part of the gastrointestinal tract and the liver, its disorders, their presenting complaints, clinical assessment, diagnosis etc with the aim to make an undergraduate learner grasp each and every concept thoroughly and deeply. This course is divided into multiple parts pertaining to the different parts of the system. This is the 1st part which deals with the basics of the gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary system along with the most common presenting complaints.
