This course on gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary diseases covers almost all diseases and disorders of different parts of the gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary system. the subjects of gastroenterology as well as hepatology are vast and complex, even when considered individually. This course provides the learners comprehensible content on each and every part of the gastrointestinal tract and the liver, its disorders, their presenting complaints, clinical assessment, diagnosis etc. with the aim to make an undergraduate learner grasp each and every concept thoroughly and deeply. This course is divided into multiple parts corresponding to the different parts of the system. This is the 6th part of the course which deals with the disorders of the pancreas, peritoneum & some topics involving the whole GIT.

  • 1. Developmental Pancreatic Abnormalities   FREE 22 min

    The module elaborates upon Congenital Pancreatic abnormalities, different Developmental Defects of the pancreas like Pancreatic Agenesis, Annular Pancreas, Pancreas Divisum, Ectopic Pancreas, Pancreaticobiliary Malunion and Congenital cysts of the pancreas, have been discussed in terms of their aetiology, pathophysiology, clinical features, diagnosis and management.

  • 2. Hereditary & Genetic Pancreatic Conditions 26 min

    This module introduces the terms hereditary disorder and genetic disorders and discusses the hereditary disorders of the pancreas like Cystic Fibrosis, Hereditary Pancreatitis and Shwachman Diamond Syndrome. and the genetic disorders pertaining to the pancreas like- Johanson-Blizzard Syndrome and Pearson’s Marrow-Pancreas Syndrome.

  • 3. Pancreatitis 36 min

    This module deals with Pancreatitis. throwing light upon its types- acute and chronic pancreatitis. The first part talks about Acute pancreatitis, in terms of its classification aetiopathogenesis, clinical presentation diagnosis and management. The second part details chronic pancreatitis.

  • 4. Cancer & Tumors in Pancreas 22 min

    This module focuses on Cancer and Tumors of pancreas. It mainly deals with Adenocarcinoma of the Pancreas, Cystic, Non-endocrine and Neuroendocrine tumors, its aetiopathogenesis, clinical presentations, diagnosis and management.

  • 5. Diseases of the Peritoneum 17 min

    This module on Peritoneum and its diseases emphasizes on the Peritonitis its classification, stages, clinical presentation, management, complications and in the end its prognosis.

  • 6. Infections of the Gastrointestinal 28 min

    The module introduces the Infections of the Gastrointestinal tract and covers viral, bacterial and lastly fungal infections. It also elaborates upon Gastroenteritis its classification, aetiology, pathogenesis and clinical presentations.

  • 7. Radiation Injury to the GIT 24 min

    This module talks about Radiation Injury to the GIT. It highlights different aspects of Radiation injury to the GIT like Radiation injury to Oespohagus, Stomach, Small intestine, Large intestine and their Management.

  • 8. Gastrointestinal & Hepatobiliary Diseases: Clinical Aspect part 1 47 min

    This module deals with the Clinical aspect of Gastrointestinal & Hepatobiliary Diseases. It begins with the History taking in Cases of Gastrointestinal & Hepatobiliary Diseases and then discusses the General physical examination and examination of the alimentary canal. This part mainly highlights Inspection and Palpation.
