Modus prescriber has been derived from the word – modus which means the methodology and prescriber which means to prescribe. Modus prescriber is the methodology that a practitioner of homoeopathy must acquaint himself with, in order to prescribe efficiently to get predictable results in different case scenarios with high level of proficiency.
Course of modus prescriber delves into the theoretical and practical aspects of making efficient homeopathic prescriptions in accordance with the philosophies and principles stated by the stalwarts of homeopathy. Dr Harsh Nigam introduces the students to the principles of remedy selection and rules of prescribing followed by various therapeutic strategies that a homeopathic must know. In the later modules, he throws light on the other aspects of a homeopathic prescription like posology and potency selection and dives deeper into the intricacies of case taking and case analysis in homeopathic parlance. Finally Dr Nigam explains the details of case management and follow up planning, Along with a knowhow of how to integrate Homeopathy with modern clinical medical scenario .

Modules description :
1. THE PRINCIPLES OF PRESCRIBING & DISEASE CATEGORIES
Dr Harsh Nigam elaborates upon the basic principles of prescribing a homeopathic medicine. He describes the philosophical basis of homeopathic prescribing that is the non material concept of disease, vitalism and dynamism as well as planes of human existence from a homeopath’s point of view. Later he talks about the principles that a homeopath must follow in order to make accurate and efficient prescriptions. This is followed by an elaborate explanation of the Herring’s law of cure and its application in the day-to-day practice of a homeopath, the methods of administration of homeopathic remedies and finally the categories of disease from a homeopathic perspective.
2. CASE TAKING
Case taking forms an integral part of homeopathy as it lays the foundation of cure. The module talks about the aims and objectives of accurate case taking and the techniques of eliciting the symptoms in different types of cases encountered by a homeopath in his daily medical practice as well as in sporadic diseases, epidemics and medical emergencies.
3. ‘CONVERSION, GRADING & INDIVIDUALISATION OF SYMPTOMS, CASE ANALYSIS’AND REPERTORIZATION
Case analysis is the second most important step in homeopathy after case taking. Dr Harsh Nigam elaborates upon the conversion of symptoms into a meaningful hierarchy from the perspective of a homeopath, their grading and the strategies of their evaluation and repertorization. The module introduces the students to a new concept of Eziyaga model of Layers of Disease and its role in a homeopath’s medical practice.
4. THERAPEUTIC STRATEGIES PART 1
When a homeopath begins to plan the treatment for a patient, he employs a specific therapeutic technique to gain the maximum benefit in terms of healing his patient. This module helps a homeopath understand simple therapeutic techniques like clinical prescribing, organopathic prescribing, constitutional prescribing and miasmatic prescribing which must be employed in order for him to maximize the benefit of his treatment to his patient.
5. THERAPEUTIC STRATEGIES part 2
Dr Nigam talks about the complex therapeutic techniques like the sequential and layered prescribing, which are relatively new techniques of prescribing in homeopathy. He throws light upon the different aspects that a homeopath must take into account before he begins writing a prescription. Getting acquainted with these techniques helps a homeopath in making efficient and effective prescriptions even in the most complicated cases.
6. HOMEOPATHIC POTENCY AND POTENCY SELECTION
Besides selecting the right remedy, a homeopath must also choose the right potency for his medicines to work effectively. This module acquaints the students with Kent’s concept of the octaves emphasizing upon the considerations that must be kept in mind to select the right potency. Every case is different and needs a different potency depending upon the susceptibility, the plane of disease, the typology, the temperament and biological constitution of the patient. 7. HOMOEOPATHIC POSOLOGY
Apart from the right remedy and the right potency, a repetition schedule is but essential when it comes to bringing cure to a patient. This module talks about the various types of doses, and the classical methods of administration of remedies and their repetitions as was done by Hahnemann, Kent and other stalwarts of Homeopathy.
8. HOMOEOPATHIC TREATMENT PLAN, how to ADAPT HOMEOPATHY TO MODERN CLINICAL SCENARIO
Today’s homeopath works in the modern scenario with a myriad of modern diseases. Not just an adjustment with advancing technology is required but also a homeopath today needs to adapt his style according to the perception of today’s world of medicine. This module introduces a homeopath to the guidelines of adapting conventional homeopathy to modern clinical scenario and plan his treatment and follow up accordingly.
